Ritsuko Taho and Toyomi Hoshina bring the interrelation of nature and culture to the forefront
of art.
Taho received her MFA in Sculpture from Yale in 1985 and Hoshina received his PhD in painting from Tokyo University of the Arts in 1984. Their work is often composed of organic matter such as leaves, plants and soil; but moves beyond the convention of the "natural environment" to include the complexities of social environments.
